Can we please add Tillings smartjoists which use lvl flanges and OSB board for webs. This section is very common in Aus for use as lightweight joists and we would love to see it incorporated in the clearcalcs library.

If I had to ask, what would you value more: these I-joists or the studs?

Thanks for the heads up, the only issue is that tilling basically dominates the market in aus. Because the joists are proprietary products, rather than standard grades, it would not be good practice to design with one product and specify the other, regardless of how similar their properties are. It would just leave us exposed if anything goes wrong that’s all. Geez making me pick haha I would probably say the joists as they are more common however we are definitely keen to begin experimenting with the studs.

While Tilling is well known they are by no stretch the dominant player in this space. Nonetheless, I would love to see all products, from all suppliers available to design with in clearcalcs. Obviously, so that we are not limited by what is or isn’t available in the library.
