Consider Camber for Deflection Calculations

Especially for Steel and Glu-Lam construction, camber is often specified to counteract planned dead-load deflection. However, calculators will still show failure due to deflection since there’s no place to put this in. If there was a place to add it (and perhaps helpful tooltip suggestions as to the feasibility of the request [i.e. conforms to industry Radius Standards, etc.]) that would be wonderful.

Thanks for the valuable feedback! You’re right, cambering is a common practice and, currently, we don’t offer cambered member options in our US calculators, only in the Australian ones.

I’ve added your request to our development queue, as this is definitely a feature that would benefit many users. That said, as you know, we have several competing priorities in our backlog, so it may take some time to be implemented.

In the meantime, please continue sharing suggestions - they’re incredibly helpful!

Thank you
