I’m designing a king stud column, and I realized that there’s no good way to link out-of-plane load to it. I have two different header calculations for in-plane and out-of-plane, and I can link them, but they only link as axial loads.
Perhaps a toggle or drop down to specify the direction of the load would be the easiest way to accomplish this?
We have encountered this issue as well. It would be a great to get a function to link horizontal reactions from beams onto columns.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I’ve filed a feature request to implement a toggle to allow specifying the direction of the load for the king stud column. This enhancement would certainly improve the functionality for handling out-of-plane loads.
