Text Box Overlapping in Interactive Shear and Moment Diagrams

image
When trying to inspect a certain point along the shear and moment graphs, the text box can be so large that you are not able to see where you are pointing to. There are a lot of ways to resolve this I think. But it would also be nice to be able to input to check a certain location because the mouse can be a little squirrely and hard to stop at the exact point you want to.

Hi Mitchell,

Thanks for the great idea! I totally agree, it would be super helpful to input the exact location on the shear and moment graphs instead of relying on the mouse. I’ve passed this on to our development team as a feature request.

Thanks again, and feel free to share any more feedback or suggestions you have!

I also think that on this page it would be really beneficial to have the option to show the worst load case. The envelope is great but you have to toggle through all of the load cases before you know which is the worst.

Thanks for the suggestion @Msouth ! It’s a really good point and one that’s been on our radar to implement. One thing that might help is that in most of our calculators, we do show which load combination governs when you enter Detailed mode, see for example in our Wood Beam calculator:
