We’re thrilled to introduce a powerful new feature in our US Steel Beam LRFD Calculator—the ability to link custom I cross-sections! :tada:

Here’s what you can now do:

  • Create Custom Sections: Use the new Custom Cross-Section Properties Calculator to define and customize your I-sections with all the relevant properties for your design and link it to the Steel Beam LRFD Calculator for integrated analysis and design.
  • Dynamic Updates: Any changes made to your custom section are automatically reflected in the design calculator, ensuring accurate and up-to-date results.

How It Works:

:one: In the US menu, select the Steel Beam LRFD Calculator and choose the “Generic Beam” option.
:two: Enable the new “Link Custom Section” option.
:three: Create your custom section in the Custom Cross-Section Properties Calculator, ensuring the analysis type is set to “Full.”
:four: Link your custom section to the beam calculator, and watch as the design updates dynamically with your customized properties.

:warning: Important Notes:

  • Currently, this feature supports I-sections only.
  • Warnings will guide you if the analysis type or section type is incompatible.
