I’m currently working on a Senior Design Project this semester for my university and it involves designing a utility storage building for a local engineering company. The building will have roof timber trusses, and I’m required to perform structural analysis and design to determine the best truss members to handle the applied loads. In the structural courses that I’ve taken, we’ve always used the LRFD method over the ASD method, so it’s the method I’m most comfortable using of course.
We’re curious if more of our users are looking for this calculator? If yes, please help us understand your use cases by answering the following questions:
- What are some use cases that necessitate the use of Wood Member (Design Only) analysis using the LRFD method over ASD?
- How often do you foresee using this calculator in your workflow (daily, weekly, monthly)?
