Right now, it’s a little bit unclear what variables are available for creating formulas within a calculator… it would be nice to have a list somewhere (a help file?) that shows what variables may be included (and how to call them) in calculations to aid in setting load formulas, especially if loads may be linked in from elsewhere (e.g. SDS value used to help set a seismic load, or Zone 1’ from a wind load calculator… or other values from the project defaults…).

Hey @themathguy thanks for the suggestion here! Three ways we’re looking at addressing this I’d love your feedback on:
- Adding a button to the right sidebar with a list of variables in the template
- Adding an autocomplete feature that will suggest variables as well as functions you can use
- Adding a help article page with common math functions that can be used (like cos).
Let us know your thoughts!

#1 or #3 would be the best, as the main problem is I don’t know what variables are available at present (or sometimes, I know that the variable exists, but I don’t know how to call it). Autocomplete would only really be helpful if I already knew the variables.
